A sodium:potassium ratio of less than 27 should prompt definitive testing

Google search “na:k ratio dog 21” – 1

I’ve had dogs for nearly 20 years and have never been offered or felt the need to look at any test results. I believed that my vet was best placed to evaluate tests and recommend appropriate treatment in a timely manner.

If I had seen Poppy’s blood test results “Na:K ratio dog 21” – that Magnolia House Veterinary Clinic deemed unremarkable and Googled them – page 1 of the results mentions Addison’s Disease or hypoadrenocorticism HA NINE times.

Stan Livy of Magnolia House Vets later dismissed Poppy’s blood test results saying they were “insignificant as they are miniscule amounts”. It was not clear why they had performed blood tests if the results were “insignificant” or why clients would pay £185 for a service with no useful results.
